Roy Cooper Continues “Make Stuff Cost Less” Tour in Durham

DURHAM – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Durham to discuss how he will work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families. 

“I’ve heard from so many working families here in Durham and across North Carolina that the chaos coming out of Washington DC is making life too expensive and they’re ready for a change,” said Roy Cooper. “I’m running to help bring the middle class back within reach for hardworking families – that starts by making stuff cost less. While I have a plan to lower costs, Washington DC insider Michael Whatley is only focused on delivering for himself and his billionaire buddies and big corporations. I’m ready to work with anyone I can in the Senate to help our state.” 

“Running a small business is always tough – but because of the chaotic tariff policy, it feels impossible,” said Triangle small business owner Sam Ratto. “When Roy Cooper was Governor, he fought for working families and delivered for small business owners. Roy knows that the reckless tariffs and sky high cost of diesel fuel is hurting small businesses – and he is ready to work with anyone he can to deliver relief. Washington DC needs some North Carolina common sense, and I know Roy is the right person to bring it.”

“As a working mom, I work hard to provide for my family, and I see firsthand how rising gas, grocery and housing costs affect families across Durham. I work hard, sometimes two jobs at a time to build a strong future for my family, and rising costs across the board make that harder than it should be,” said working mom Aalayah Sanders. “Costs are just too high for so many in this community and it’s getting worse because of policies supported by Washington DC insider Michael Whatley. Roy Cooper has led our state with integrity and has a track record of getting stuff done and delivering lower costs – that’s why we need him in the U.S. Senate.”  

On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities, child care and housing.
