Roy Cooper Continues “Make Stuff Cost Less” Tour in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE – Today, Roy Cooper continued his “Make Stuff Cost Less” tour, holding an event in Charlotte to discuss how he will work in the U.S. Senate to make life more affordable for North Carolina families.

“While families in Charlotte and around the state struggle as their bills skyrocket, Washington DC insiders and big corporations are getting even richer,” said Roy Cooper. “I’m running to help make stuff cost less for North Carolina families who are working hard, playing by the rules and still barely getting by. Meanwhile, Washington DC insider and Big Oil and utility company lobbyist Michael Whatley is running to benefit his own stock portfolio and keep helping his billionaire buddies and big corporations. In the U.S. Senate, I’ll work with anyone I can to make stuff cost less for North Carolina families.”

“The chaos coming out of Washington DC is hurting Charlotte families, forcing seniors to pick between medicine and food and leaving young people to make impossible choices as they try to build a life,” said Charlotte native Angie Kelly. “My family has seen it firsthand. We are mindful of every cost and purchase because we have to be. Roy is a strong independent leader who knows stuff costs too much right now. While Washington DC insider Michael Whatley profits as we pay more for utilities and at the gas station, Roy has real plans to make stuff cost less for hardworking North Carolinians.”

“Utilities, groceries, gas – the price of everything has skyrocketed,” said Charlotte resident Carl Terrell. “Roy Cooper knows it just shouldn’t be this hard to get by – and he is ready to take on the big corporations and Washington DC insiders profiting at our expense. While Michael Whatley will look for every way to profit from his power, I know Roy will fight for hardworking North Carolinians – that’s exactly why we need him in the U.S. Senate.”

On the Make Stuff Cost Less tour, Roy released his plans to lower the cost of food and groceries, health care, utilities, child care and housing.
