This race is different
Yesterday, we closed the books on our final end-of-quarter fundraising deadline before Election Day.
To everyone who chipped in, knocked on doors, talked with friends and neighbors or simply stayed up to date on this race: thank you. Every effort counts, and it’s your support that will carry us through to the finish line.
I’ve spent my career fighting for North Carolinians, and I know that this race is different. At almost every event I attend, whether it’s a canvass launch, a community meeting or a Make Stuff Cost Less event, someone comes up to me and tells me it’s the first political event they’ve ever been to.
That gives me hope. People all across the state recognize that the swamp in Washington is deeper than ever, and these are not ordinary times. They are worried about the future of our state and country.
And folks aren’t just ready to go to the polls and vote for change. They’re signing up to canvass and talk with their neighbors, and they’re telling me they’re knocking doors for the first time. Making calls for the first time. Donating for the first time.
They’re ready to show up.
I’ve said many times I’m a prisoner of hope. I truly believe our best days are ahead of us, if we work toward it. This campaign has shown me people are ready for a course correction, and they know that change is possible on November 3rd.
Thank you for being a part of this people-powered movement.
We have a lot of work to do in these last 5 weeks, and I’m grateful for everything you’ve done to get us here. We have 33 more days to keep showing up, keep talking with voters and finish this race strong.
