It starts with the Supreme Court

It is absolutely critical that we re-elect Justice Anita Earls to the North Carolina Supreme Court, and we have to do it by a margin that’s too big to rig.

I’ll explain why in a second. But if that’s all you need to hear, please split a donation between my campaign and Anita’s today.

Anita Earls and I in Concord, North Carolina

Back in 2024, North Carolinians elected Justice Allison Riggs to the NC Supreme Court by the slimmest of margins: 734 votes out of 5.5 million cast. Her election took nearly six months and was the last race in the nation to be certified.

But that isn’t because of the margin, at least not entirely. It’s because her opponent and state Republicans asked the courts to throw out 60,000 legal ballots after the election. In effect, they tried to change the rules after the game was already played.

That meant that some North Carolinians registered to vote before the state changed our voter registration requirements; some cast their ballots from overseas; and active-duty military North Carolinians mailed their ballots from wherever they were stationed at the time.

All of these were legal ballots, and state Republicans tried to throw them out anyway. Those are the lengths they were willing to go to flip a seat on our Supreme Court in 2024 and we must anticipate that it will be no different this time around.

Justice Anita Earls stands for accountability, keeping our communities safe and equal justice for all under the law. It’s imperative we re-elect her.

I hope you’re with me. If you are, please chip in a donation between my campaign and hers today.
